⚠ Not approved for flight planning

GlobalSky is an internal situational-awareness tool, not a certified flight planning system. Always refer to approved official sources for operational decisions.

1Who We Are

GlobalSky provides a crew operations platform to airline operators. Your employer or operator is the data controller — they determine why and how your personal data is processed. GlobalSky acts as the data processor, operating the technical infrastructure on their behalf.

For privacy requests, contact your company administrator first. For questions about GlobalSky's role as processor, contact us at info@globalsky.be.

2Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Account dataName, user ID, role, company, home base, and account status. Created and managed by your company administrator.
Authentication dataEmail address, encrypted password, and session tokens. Handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
Roster dataFlight schedule and duties, sourced from your calendar provider via a URL you supply. Not stored permanently.
Operational activityAcknowledgement of NOTAMs and emergency communications, required to track crew awareness of safety-critical information.
Private messagingMessage content, sender and recipient endpoints, timestamps, delivery/read status and archive status for authorised user-to-user and user-to-department communications.
Connection activityDate and time of your last login, visible to your company administrator for security and access management.
Diagnostic dataTechnical event data collected only if you voluntarily submit a report from within the app. Never transmitted automatically. Deleted after 30 days.
LocationApproximate GPS position, used only to retrieve nearby weather (METAR), only when you grant permission. Not stored.

3Why We Collect It

Data is processed to authenticate and authorise access; to deliver company communications including private messages, NOTAMs and emergency alerts; to synchronise and display your roster; to provide nearby weather information; to record acknowledgement of safety-critical communications; to monitor connection activity for account security; and to diagnose technical issues when you choose to submit a report.

The legal basis is determined by your employer as data controller — typically performance of your employment contract, compliance with operational obligations, or legitimate interests in maintaining a secure platform.

4Who Has Access

Your data is accessible to authorised personnel within your company and to GlobalSky administrators for platform maintenance and support. Data is never shared between companies, sold, or used for advertising.

GlobalSky uses Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, notifications) and CheckWX (weather data). These providers act as sub-processors under appropriate data processing agreements. Some may process data outside the EEA; where GDPR applies, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

5Retention

Account and operational data is retained for as long as your account is active and as required by your employer. Voluntary diagnostic reports are deleted automatically after 30 days. Connection timestamps are overwritten at each session and are not accumulated. Locally cached data is cleared when you log out or remove the app.

6Your GDPR Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise them, contact your company administrator — your employer, as data controller, is responsible for handling your request within 30 days.
